The Right Brain hemisphere works with initiative, creativity, ingenuity and innovation. It works in whole as opposed to details.

In normal activities, where both sides of the brain are used so closely to one another that it is impossible to say which one is in operation. During, brain storming, both sides are in operation to produce the result. First the right brain is used to collect together as many ideas, however wild or way out, as possible and then the left brain is used to evaluate the ideas so produced.

When two hemispheres work together to contribute to a result, the brain is working at its best. Too often person has one or the other side more dominant. A balance is ideal.

Our society encourages us to use mostly our Left brain (the conscious mind) and rewards its behaviour. The Student is rewarded for remembering names, dates and numbers, but is penalized for subconscious work of the Right brain, such as day dreaming activity. There is value for high grades in mathematics, history and science but not so for arts etc, Naturally conscious mind develops faster and the subconscious remains less developed.

This is because of two reasons:-

1.      We take our minds for granted.

2.      We don't really know how our mind functions.

From now onwards do not take your mind for granted.

Your mind has almost unlimited capabilities, remember you are using only 1% to 5% of it. By reading all of these posts, you will probably touch the tip of the ice-berge, it will teach you how to use your mind more effectively, these posts will help you to channel your energies into such mind training that you will be able to get what you want from life.

You mind is omnipotent. Realise the immense power of your mind.

Mind power is not will power. In fact it is WILL POWER that is the product of Mind power. Imagination precedes will power.

Dr, Herbert Benson, in his book "Your Maximum Mind", has this to say about the Conscious Mind:-

"For a right handed person, the left hemisphere of the brain acts as a sort of "super press agent". It tries to make sense out of the huge quantities of new and stored information; the left side shifts and categorizes information. It makes influences and predictions based on that information. To facilitate this inference making function, the left hemisphere relies on vast reservoirs of analytical, logical and verbal skills. The fact we can put thoughts in language and give precise reasons for why we do things is largely a direct result of this left side function of the brain.

The left side of the brain indeed performs an invaluable service for us. We couldn't perform effectively as human beings without it. There's far too much information in our minds for us to be able to deal with it all and the left side of the brain helps us, from moment to moment, select what's important to know.

Unfortunately, however, the left side is so important in this function that it has tended to overshadow the role of the right side of the brain. Yet the right side is the key to the plasticity of our minds and our ability to change the ingrained thought patterns and habits."

"The right brain serves as a centre of many of our intuitive, creative, mental functions. Many times you'll have insight or thought which seem to "come out of nowhere". You know it is a valid idea but it didn't arrive though any logical, analytical process. Most likely, this idea or insight entered your mind through the actions of neuro-transmitters of the right hemisphere of the brain. Many of our artistic abilities and functions including ability to perceive things spatially ten to be rooted in the right hemisphere. Then, after we receive this sort of input, the information is transmitted from the right side to the left side for interpretation, selection and inference. Specially, it passes through a connecting portion of the brain called the "corpus collosum"."

Introduction To My Great Blog:-

I know that great word doesn't seems to fit so don't get over all about it. I had this idea to introducing all of my viewers to my blog. So, basically my blog is about the great human. A mystical creature, which formed by an accident of organs collisions. Human act and react to everything around their surroundings. Sometimes, that reaction is bad and sometimes good. We don't know what's gonna happen next. Some say that we can only access  our super brain only 20%. If this is 20%, what will be 100%? Will we ever able to gain that percent work age. How our brain works in our atmosphere is the reason I am writing this blog.  The mysteries not yet known to be discovered are a question mark to what we are.  

A. The Sub-conscious Mind

The Subconscious mind has following functions:

1. It controls the automatic functions of the body, such as our heartbeat, breathing, digestion and our physical development etc. Controls our immune system.

2. It controls all our learned functions like habit, attitudes, the way we walk, we drive a car, how we use our reflexes in riding a bicycle or ducking to avoid an injury. The way we programme ourselves to behave.

3. It maintains our memory and records all our experiences of life regarding what we think, whst we say and what we imagine of ourselves. It stores up our interpretation of reality.

4. Controls our Extra Sense Perception e.g. Telepathy and Clairvoyance.

5. Has links with the Unknown, the spiritual being.

6. Controls Body Language.

7. Controls, Energy and Creativity.

8. Solves our problems and achieves our goals. It operates as our Servo-mechanism our Guidance System.

9. Controls our instincts and intuitions.

The Subconscious Mind

"Your subconscious is often referred to as Subjective mind. It takes cognizance of its environment by

means independent of the five senses. Your subjective mind perceives by intuition. It is the seat of your emotions and a store house of memory, it performs super-rapid functions when the conscious mind is in abeyance. In a word, it is intelligence which makes itself manifest when objective mind (Conscious) is suspended or is in a sleepy or drowsy state.

The subconscious mind sees without the natural organs of vision. It has the capacity of clairvoyance and clair-audience. It can leave your body, travel distant lands and bring back information often of most exact and truthful character. Though your subconscious mind you can read the thought of other, read the contents of sealed envelops and closed safes. Your subconscious mind has the ability of to apprehend the thoughts of others without the use of ordinary objective means of communications. It is of greatest importance that we understand the interaction of the objective and subjective minds....... Your subconscious cannot reason or argue controversially like your conscious mind."

There may be some more functions not yet known to Man.

However, there are three basic functions of the Subconscious Mind, namely:-

1. With it's intuitive understanding of the bodily needs, it maintains and preserves (unaided by conscious mind) the well-being and indeed the very life of the body.

2. In times of great emergency it springs into immediate action (again independently of the conscious mind) and takes supreme command, acting with incredible certitude, super-rapidity, accuracy and understanding in saving the life of the individual.

3. It is operative in the psychic world in which the subconscious powers are manifest in such phenomena as telepathy, clairvoyance and psycho-kens-is. But it can also be summoned to help in times of great personal necessity, when the conscious calls upon the subconscious to use its powers and resources. It responds to solve a vital problem or bring to pass that which is sought and desired by the individual.

It is the last part we will be mostly concerned with during this programme.

The Brian Hemispheres

Much of brain research took place in 1980's and there after. In 1981 Roger Spencer, a psychologist at California Institute of Technology, won a Noble Prize in psychology and medicine for his work on functioning of the two hemispheres of the brain, referred to as "split brain" research.

Left Brain - Right Brain

The evidence shows that we have a Left-brain and a Right-brain. The two are connected by a communication network called the CORPUS COLOSSEUM which sends information back and forth between the two hemispheres of the brain. When you hear people talking about the conscious and the subconscious minds they refer to the same duality. Scientists have determined that 95% of the population is left brain dominated.

The Left Brian is the logical side, it is engaged in reasoning, evaluating, criticizing and analyzing and going into detail. 

FUNCTIONS OF MIND

The Conscious Mind

In this session, we will study how our mind actually functions. Namely, the Conscious and the Sub-conscious Minds. These are not two compartments of minds, in fact they are merely two functions of the same mind - the CONSCIOUS MIND or the rational or the objective mind and the SUB-CONSCIOUS MIND the subjective or the irrational mind.

A.         The Conscious Mind:

 

             This part of our mind's function perceives the world through the five senses. The conscious mind maintains contact with "reality". It is the rational function of our mind that investigates and interprets reality. The conscious mind has four functions.

              1.      Perception  :       The Mind Gathers information through the five senses. Our                                                                    perception is not always accurate and complete.

 

              2.      Association  :      What is perceived is associated with our memory or past experience -                                                    the "data bank" stored in our subconscious. You say: "Have I seen                                                          anything like this before?".

              3.     Evaluation    :       After we associate what we perceive, we evaluate it. We want to                                                            know:- "How does this information compare with what I already                                                            know?"

              4.      Decision      :       We decide upon the course of action, reaction or inaction.

Limitation of Human Perception

When a person views only his own version reality, he invariably locks on to it. Only a part of the reality gets focused, the other aspects of reality gets blocked out by his prior expectation or conditioning etc. He can't perceive it. This is one great factor that limits man's capabilities and performance. We often formulate beliefs and views that are not consistent with the real world, these are our blind spots called SCOTOMAS, a sensory blocking-out of some aspect of reality.

Scotomas

Scotomas are a sensory locking out some aspect of environment through prior expectations or conditioning. We stick to our conditioned beliefs only. We become prisoners of our own "blind spots" because of our ways of perceiving things, our blind ways of doing things, our "lock out" notion of what can be done. They cause us to see what we want to see, hear what we expect to hear and think what we expect to think. We never seem to question or doubt our perception and always take it for granted. We never even suspect that we have them, nor we even verify them.

We go about our daily routine, running our business, raising our family, doing our jobs, unaware of the several options open to us, for growth and success are within our reach.

We lock on to conventional ways of doing things and lock out many options open to us. We go about doing things wrongly convinced that we are right and all else are wrong.

When we get filled with prejudices or hatred, we do terribly inhuman things, oblivious of the ghastly nature of of our own actions. When our scotomas prevent us to see any good or merit in our own selves, we put a seal to our growth and development and possibly sow the seeds of destruction.

When we wrongly hold an adverse opinion about our subordinates and our children, we proceed to adopt unbecoming attitudes about them. Those who respect and admire us, tend to own up our limiting and negative assessment of them, they get programmed by them to produce negative behaviour.

Scotomas have brought a lot of misery, tremendous conflict and strife to mankind. When we consider our negative thoughts as realistic and the positive ones as irrelevant or absurd, then you can easily imagine the consequences.

When we lock-on to one aspect of reality, we lock-out the rest of it and limited our selves. This happened to someone whom I know very well. That some one, always use to think about the adopted son who was taken away and then slowly that someone got divorced and misery and pain took over that someone.

During the exercises you may have noticed how you missed out the "Fs" the old or the young lady, the Fly etc.

It simply points towards a Lock On/Lock Out phenomena. Are you and your people "locked on" to traditional ways of doing things?

Most people lock out valuable information about reality because they are conditioned to do so.

Think of scotomas, how you perform in your job, see your business opportunities, what you think of your health, competence, capability in sports and in all fields of life. Se how you could close several options open to you.

Think of a drawing of two ladies, what prevented you from seeing both ladies? See how you perform and do things.

Locking out can however be beneficial. It helps you to build your own scotomas to outside distractions. As you lock on to a project with real concentration, it helps you to focus intently on the challenge at hand. By deliberately building your own scotomas, you are able to lock out needless distractions.

Thoughts must manifest

Unlike the denser forms like matter, thoughts being fine, quick, light, mobile form of energy, manifest instantaneously. What-ever we create, whether in the physical form or an idea, we first create it in thought form. A thought always precedes manifestation. You can't do a thing unless it first come to you as a thought. An artist initially has an idea or inspiration, then only he can create a work of art.

"All that we are, is the result of what we have thought", said Buddha

"What we believe, that we are!" wrote W.L. Russle in "Peace and Power".

Developing a deep belief in the power of our thoughts can transform your life. Ralph Waldo Emerson declared that "the ancestor of every action is thought". Your thoughts, those that predominate, determine your career, your character, indeed every day life. It is man's thoughts that make or break him.

The idea is a blue-print; it creates an image of the form, which then magnetizes and guides the physical energy to flow into a form and eventually manifests it physically. Simply holding an idea as a thought in the mind is energy which will tend to attract and create on the material plane.

Law of Radiation & Attraction

It is a principle, that what you throw into the air comes back at you. Thoughts operating on a certain plane or pitch are very effective in influencing others or that pitch.

You look awesome with ill-will, he is bound to have similar emotions stirred up within him, then they bounce back to further aggravate the feeling of ill-will in you. We always attract into our lives whatever we think about most, believe in most strongly, expect on the deepest levels or imagine most vividly.

When we are despondent, fearful, insecure, depressed or tense, we will tend to attract people and create situations, that depress us further. We will attract people, we seek to avoid. If we are basically positive, we will attract luck, success and achievement, we will tend to enjoy the company of our like-minded friends. If we think we are ill, we become ill, if we think we can't succeed, we will always fail.

It is well said, "He who does not HOPE to win has already LOST"

Change

The process of change does not occur on the superficial levels, mere pious hopes or just positive thinking not work. It involves living with a thought, leading to exploring, discovering and changing our deepest, most basic attitudes towards life. Thoughts when visualized repeatedly with emotion can lead to meaningful and lasting change.

Through faith, thoughts get invigorated and completed, whereas every doubt has its perfection. Faith strengthens imagination, for faith establishes the will, faith comes with finding one's self. This self finding establishes a clear realization of one's identity with the Eternal.

It is not hard work alone that brings success. The world is full of people who toiled and worked hard but had little to show for it. Something more than just hard work is necessary; it is creative thinking and firm belief in your ability to execute your ideas. The hands were mere helpers to the brains of successful men.

Below a profound statement by an unknown writer.

"You are what you will yourself to be. In the great kingdom of the

mind, you fashion in the precious mould of thoughts, the motive power

that shapes your destiny. For you think you will become, what you

believe in indicates the way and whilst you live, the will is never dumb. 

Remember when your life you plan, it has been sagely said of man, this 

I can if I think I can"

Mind is infinite and does not seem to have observable limits.

Each individual is unique, so is his unique way of interpreting his sensory in-puts.

Among factors that influence individual perception are:

(a) Exceptions, desire and wishes.
(b) Prior experiences and mental conditioning, prejudices, hatred, likes and dislikes etc.
(c) Motives, whims and fancies.
(d) Needs and urges.
(e) Perceptual Learning style.

Each individual has his own way of deciphering what his senses perceive, it is his own version of it. At best, it is his own version of reality, however limited it may be, his own version of truth, however distorted it could be. Human Beings, infact are incapable of perceiving reality as it exists.

The same is true with individuals. A life spontaneously lived by Cosmic Laws is a life fulfilled. An individual thus flows into Totality and merges his psyche, his feelings and his energy with Totality. He gets truly energized by it. This brings about an explosion of creativity and energy. When Cosmic Laws are violated the World seems gets stuck in a rut of insurmountable difficulties, it suddenly finds itself turning around to Cosmic laws, the whole situation appears fluid and full of possibilities, waiting to be explored and remodelled according to our vision. Infinite possibilities open up. This is a lesson from history. The quality of our feelings and the level of our energy are closely related to how we live this reality. We are at peace with ourselves, with others and the whole environment. Violate the Cosmic law you violate your peace, generate agitation and conflict within and condemn yourself to misery and pain.

Spiritual Energy

Mind works on another powerful frequency, not yet fully understood or discovered by science. It is the Spiritual frequency. Links with the Creator is linking oneself with the source of Cosmic Energy. A "Momin" merely submits himself to the Cosmic Laws of Allah Almighty. He develops links with The Creator Himself. When man establishes these links with "Zikr and Fikr" he gets illuminated. It brings forth a versatile wisdom that enriches and enlightens awareness or consciousness, different from knowledge obtained through sense perception. When thoughts get enriched by the Cosmic Energy, they acquire incredible range of vision and power. They yield great influence and control over self, over others and objects around. Thoughts provide the basis for all spiritual development.

We all get energized with people and objects around. See how you feel when you are in your office, before a boss or a subordinate, how you behave while watching a movie, when with friends, with family, in a crowd, seeing an excited fame on TV, during prayers and how you stand in awe and in ecstasy when you stand in front of Khan-a-Kaba. There seems a wisdom in saying prayers in congregation, a bigger crowd on Friday, yet bigger during Eid and finally a huge multitude, a universal crowd during Haj. Our thoughts get invigorated by the solemn occasions and atmosphere.

It is now maintained that if you talk to plants, they tend to grow faster along with the nature of your positive thoughts. Plants do not understand language, yet they do get energized by us.

Properties of Energy

Energy is vibrating at different levels and at different rates of speeds and thus has different qualities, from finer to denser. Thoughts are relatively fine, light form of energy and therefore quick to change. Matter, on the other hand is dense and compact energy and therefore slower to move and change. There are great variations within matter. Metal is very dense, therefore is slower to change, flesh is less dense, changes easily. Rock may be dense but eventually changes and is affected by the fine, light energy of water. All forms of energy are inter-related and therefore influence each other. Not only people influence each other, but by the mere physical presence of animate as well as inanimate objects around are known to energize.

Energy is magnetic

It is the law of Nature that energy of a certain quality and vibration tends to attract energy of a similar quality and vibration.

You quite often accidentally run into a person you have just been thinking about. Two people sitting together often have a same thought at the same time.

"Physically, we are all energy and everything with in and around us is made up of energy. We are all part of one great energy field. Things we perceive to be solid and separate are in reality just various forms of our essential energy which is common to us all. We are all one, even in a literal and physical sense ............."

Jack Ensign Addington in his, "100% Mind Power" observes,

"The orderly arrangement of the manifest universe proves that there is an Intelligence that is Universal, an Intelligence that exists within the atom and is reproduced in and through every part of life extending into infinite Universe. There is no place where this intelligence does not exist. All is Mind and is the creation of Mind.... Th world and all that it contains is made up of are ideas manifest."

We cannot doubt that there is a definite purpose in creation. We do not live in the world as aimless beings - our hearts, our feelings and our instincts tell us that we are a part of a Grand Design. One of the greatest gifts that human beings possess is to have an understanding of this and to direct his life accordingly.

Every part of creation, being a part of totality, is governed by the part of this Cosmic totality. Every creation follows these laws in a completely spontaneous manner. Human beings have a responsibility of choice. We may choose to acknowledge the reality of Cosmic Law and live accordingly. We may even subvert our selves by defiance. Whatever be our choice, we can not step outside the Cosmos or its Laws. An organisation grows fastest when majority of its members choose to live by Cosmic Laws. When this happens, the power of totality starts supporting that organisation and clears it's path from obstacles.

UNIT - A, THE MAGIC POWER OF MIND

Human Thoughts

It is the amazing power of thought and ability to rationalize that makes man superior to all creations. It is thought, that is man's most powerful instrument, the faculty that enables him to face up to the enormous problems of living and change. With the existing pace of research, it is assumed that it may take another 100 years of scientific research to fully unreveal the mysteries of human mind. Whatever little is known of it is confounding indeed. Following are some of the known powers and functions of human thought.

The Universal Energy

ALBERT EINSTEIN

In 1905, Albert Einstein gave the world a famous formula: E=mc2. In the formula, E is the energy, m is mass or matter and c represents the velocity of light. This formula explains the relationship between Energy and Matter. When matter approaches speed of light, it becomes energy and as the velocity slows down to zero, it becomes matter. By learning to apply this formula man has been able to turn matter into energy and energy into matter. We can now see that because matter and energy are one and the same thing, everything in this Universe is inter-related and influences each other.

We now know that all that exists is, infact, all energy. Science has now begun to say what religion declared centuries ago. Our physical universe is not really composed of any "matter" at all; its basic components are a kind of forces or essence which we call ENERGY.

The theory of "Big Bang" has it that it was just a speck of light that exploded into what we call universe. Obviously, light in exploding must have formed into Energy like any explosion does and the energy transformed itself into matter.

Sura "Noor" in Quran, starts by saying, "Allah is the Light of heavens and earth" (S.xxiv., 35)

The astrologers maintain that the positioning of stars and planets at a particular time influence the course of human life.

If we study the entire Physical Universe we find that everything that exists in it is made up of ENERGY.

On finer levels, however, matter can be broken-up into tiny particles like atoms and sub-atoms. An atom consists of neutron, protons and electrons. It simply consists of pure Energy. We and everything around us is made up of energy. We are a part of one great energy field - the Universal Energy.

If we study the entire Physical Universe we find that every thing that exists in it is made up of ENERGY
